Honduras - Cafe UNO

from $15.00

Region: Paraiso
Elevation: 1300 meters
Cultivar: Parainema
Process: Washed
Notes: French Toast, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie, Chocolate Fudge, Orange Blossom Honey

——————————————————————————————

CafeUNO, founded in 2015, aims to change how coffee from the Paraiso region is marketed and sold. This is the second year of partnership with CafeUNO, following a visit to the cooperative in March 2024. The coffee lot is a blend from 10-12 farmers' microlots, selected for quality and flavor.

Williams Alexander Romero Gradiz, a fourth-generation coffee farmer with 26 years of experience, has managed CafeUNO for eight years. His mission is to help producers grow, process quality coffee, and receive fair payments. While he is hopeful about improving coffee quality in Paraiso, he acknowledges challenges like climate change, labor shortages, pests, and low coffee prices.

Hyperion is doubling its purchase from last year and looks forward to a long-term partnership with CafeUNO, valuing their shared commitment to quality and transparency.
